Halloween Better Late than Never

I'm a little late getting the Halloween pictures posted, but here they are. Emily's favorite holiday. Emily was Sleeping Beauty. Abby was a Princess Kitty. Drew was a dinosaur. Emily and Abby had a great time and Drew was along for the ride. This year Em and Abby were running off ahead of us and didn't need us to walk up to each door with them. They managed to hit a lot more houses this way than years past and we still have the candy to prove it.

Growing so Quickly

Time is flying at our house. Drew sat up for nearly 10 minutes today before toppling over. He loves to sit and pull toys out of a basket just like his sister did at this age.

He looks really serious about this toy bug doesn't he?

He's also doing this adorable thing where he gets up on his hands and his tip-toes. Then he'll get back on his hands and knees and move his little bootie back and forth. Love it. And he's rolling front to back now (it had been just back to front for awhile).
We had a game night with my family and we were all so impressed that Emily and Abby played their own game of Candy Land. They looked so old!!! I don't think they actually managed to finish the game though, but still!I just had to throw this one in here because he's so stinkin' cute.

Abby is 4!

My beautiful niece Abby turned 4 on October 29th. She had a great Hello Kitty party.

The kids played hot potato with a Hello Kitty doll. It was a hit. Pin the bow on Hello Kitty.

The pinata apparently had the kids mesmerized.
My sister made the cake - isn't it fantastic? Happy Birthday Abby, we love you!

Children's Museum Haunted House

Another fall tradition - the haunted house at the Children's Museum. We left Drew with gramma so Don and I could spend some one on one time with Em. This was the first year we went during frightening hours. The greeter at the haunted house wanted to make sure we knew it was frightening hours because she was worried about Em getting scared - obviously she doesn't know our little thrill seeker. Em loved it!!!
Em's favorite exhibits at the Children's Museum are dinosphere and the mummies (Mason introduced her to the mummies, we never even knew they were there!). Here is our little paleoentologist at work. I love this picture...

How lucky are we to have a phenomenal children's museum in our city?????

Zoo Boo

There are so many fun things to do in October! We didn't even get in all the things we wanted to, but we did make it to Zoo Boo. Em was more in to trick or treating than the animals. It was a cool cloudy day and several of the animals were up and about that are usually sleeping - like the lions and tigers. But the highlight of my day was riding the carousel backwards!

Precious Moments

This was just one of those sweet moments that I wish I could hold on to for eternity. We were having a slow morning and I left Drew and Em to play in the living room while I got some laundry started. I came back and found Em showing her brother a book. I got the first picture before they even knew I was there.

I love being a mom!!!!

Budding Photographer

Cory will be so proud. Emily loves to take pictures and she's pretty good at it. She takes pictures of her Barbies...pictures of our cat...pictures of her favorite blanket

and pictures of the toilet - yes that's right - the toilet. She thought it was hilarious (and so did I!)

Let It Out

Well it's time. I've let it build up long enough. Time to let off some steam. It's about the comments - or should I say lack of comments. Yes I'm talking to you. I know - you say you're busy, you only have time to read the post but no time to leave a comment. My rebuttal - it takes a lot more time to write that post than it takes you to comment on it. And who said you have to write a book - "good post" will suffice. Just "hi" would suffice. Then there's the fact that you don't have to comment every time - but for those frequent visitors that have only commented like 3 times, that's not working for me. I thought I would be happy when I uploaded the hit counter and confirmed the site is getting lots of hits which it has - at least 10/day. But I still need to know my work is appreciated. Does that make me insecure - that I need the affirmation? No I don't think so. It's just common courtesy. To quote my friend and fellow blogger Krystal, "I'm just sayin..." And for those of you that don't know me - you hopped over here from somewhere else - please leave a comment too. I'm really not as crabby as I sound right now.

OK. I think the steam has been sufficiently released. But, lastly to my own hubby - we're all still waiting for your Disney Fave Five.

To get the ball rolling I have a poll for my readers. I'm getting my hair cut on Thursday and I would like your opinions - short (or at least my version of short), medium, or long? I even have pictures for you. I could put this in one of those easy polls off to the side of this post where all you have to do is click one button to vote, but I think my readers need some practice with the comments. I'm looking forward to the results. Have a great week and check back soon. I have several posts to catch up on this week.
